This representative example explains a project-planning route. It does not identify a customer, disclose an order or claim a commercial result.

The starting brief

A buyer plans a small collection of engraved acrylic displays for retail. The display artwork will change across the range, but the base should remain consistent. The initial brief includes the panel dimensions, target market, expected quantity, preferred retail appearance and required arrival period.

The suitable starting platform

The buyer reviews the classic round acrylic lamp base and the USB beech wood acrylic lamp base. The decision is based on panel fit, product positioning and the intended power arrangement—not on changing as many features as possible.

The first sample confirms the complete set

The sample uses a representative finished acrylic plate. Panel thickness, insertion depth, artwork boundary, stability and illumination are checked together. The team also confirms the control method, cable and the way the base and plate sit inside the package.

Private-label details remain controlled

  • Approved base model and finish
  • Final panel dimensions and lower-edge drawing
  • Logo or base-marking file
  • Light and control configuration
  • Included cable or power accessories
  • Retail package structure, artwork and language
  • Master-carton identification and delivery destination

When the solution would change

If a later request introduces a wider slot, different housing geometry, new PCB, changed power system or a structural feature that the platform does not support, that item moves out of the private-label scope. A completed customer design can be reviewed as OEM / Build-to-Print; a new product concept can be assessed through Full ODM.

The planning lesson

Keep one approved hardware platform where possible, then control the display artwork and packaging variations against it. This makes the sample decision clearer and prevents a new electronic or structural specification from being introduced accidentally with each graphic design.
