When buying acrylic night lights, you do not need to choose a battery model or work out the shipping classification yourself. What matters first is how the lights will be used and when they need to arrive.

Shipping is assessed using the battery fitted to the selected BOWEI product and the way it is packed. Understanding a few battery basics will help you compare products and plan delivery.

USB-Powered, Battery-Operated or Rechargeable?

These terms describe different power arrangements. A USB connection alone does not mean a light has a rechargeable battery.

Power arrangement What it means BOWEI product example
USB wired The light receives power through a USB cable during use. The standard configuration is not described as rechargeable. Warm White Acrylic 3D Illusion Night Light
USB rechargeable A USB connection charges an internal battery so the light can operate without a cable between charges. Rechargeable 7-Color Acrylic LED Desk Sign
Multiple power versions The product platform offers different power configurations. The quotation identifies the version being supplied. RGB Acrylic 3D Illusion Night Light

For a display near a power outlet, USB wired power may be practical. For an event table where cables would interfere with placement, a rechargeable model may suit the setting better.

Tell us whether power is available at the installation point and how long the lights need to operate. We can then review the available product versions with you.

Battery Basics That Matter for Shipping

Two lamps with similar appearances may have different battery configurations. The shipping review uses the actual battery and packing details, rather than the product photo or the word "rechargeable."

Battery detail Why it matters
Battery chemistry Different battery types can have different transport requirements. Replaceable does not automatically mean non-lithium.
Energy rating For lithium-ion batteries, watt-hours (Wh) describe stored energy and are relevant to the transport assessment. Capacity in mAh alone does not give the complete picture.
Packing arrangement Batteries installed in a lamp, packed alongside it or shipped separately may be treated differently.
Battery identification Supporting documents need to relate to the cell or battery type actually supplied.

You do not need to specify these details yourself. BOWEI provides the battery information for the confirmed product configuration so it can be reviewed for the proposed shipment.

How the Product Configuration Affects Delivery

For our Rechargeable 7-Color Acrylic LED Desk Sign , the shipping review uses the internal battery fitted to the supplied version.

For the RGB Acrylic 3D Illusion Night Light , the selected power version needs to be established first because the platform lists battery, USB wired and USB rechargeable options.

If a replaceable-battery version is selected, the quotation should also state whether batteries are included. This affects both shipment preparation and what you need to arrange before use.

Once the order configuration is confirmed, we use those details for shipping preparation. Any later battery or packing change should be reviewed before dispatch.

Air Freight and Sea Freight: What Needs Checking?

Both routes require a review of the actual battery configuration. Sea freight should not be treated as a way to avoid battery safety requirements.

Transport method What is reviewed before booking
Air freight or courier Applicable classification, packing instructions, quantity limits, any state-of-charge requirements, marks, labels, documents and acceptance by the selected operator.
Sea freight Applicable IMDG provisions, packing, marks, labels, documents and acceptance by the selected shipping line.

BOWEI provides the product and battery details for this review. The forwarder or carrier confirms the requirements and acceptance for the proposed route.

What About UN 38.3 and SDS Documents?

For applicable lithium batteries, the UN 38.3 test summary identifies the cell or battery type and its test information. Ask which documents are available for the battery used in your selected product.

A logistics provider may also request an SDS. However, an SDS does not replace the applicable UN 38.3 test summary or required transport documents.

RFQ: What You Need to Tell Us

You can request a quotation without knowing the battery model. Send the following project information:

  • Your preferred product or a reference image.
  • Order quantity.
  • Where and how the lights will be used.
  • Whether cable-free operation is needed, and for how long.
  • Delivery country and postcode.
  • Required arrival date.
  • Preferred transport method, if you have one.

What BOWEI Will Confirm

Based on the selected product, we will confirm the supplied power version, battery inclusion, relevant battery specifications and available supporting documents.

Where we arrange freight, we will use this information to review the shipping options with the forwarder. If you use your own forwarder, we can provide the product and battery details needed for their assessment.

For a fixed-date event, allow time after delivery for inspection and any charging, assembly or battery installation. The lights should be ready before setup begins, not simply delivered on time.

Useful Shipping References

Shipping requirements can change. The final assessment should use the rules and operator requirements in effect when the shipment is booked.
