Crystal objects and acrylic plates can both use an illuminated base, but they transfer load and light in different ways. The top structure should be selected around the actual display object.
Flat acrylic plates normally use an inserted edge
An acrylic display panel usually enters a slot so its lower edge receives light and the base holds the plate upright. Compatibility depends on finished thickness, insertion depth, panel size and balance. Artwork position and the visible boundary above the base should also be checked.
Crystal balls need centered support
A crystal sphere is not retained by an acrylic slot. The base may use a flat illuminated area, a concave top or another centered support direction. Sphere diameter, weight and the contact geometry influence stability and visual proportion.
Crystal blocks and discs form a third group
A flat crystal block or disc may require a support closer to a display stand than a ball base. Send front, side and bottom views so the illuminated contact area and holding structure can be reviewed instead of assuming that any “crystal base” is suitable.
| Display | Main interface | Key checks |
|---|---|---|
| Acrylic plate | Lower edge inserted into a slot | Thickness, insertion, height, weight and light-entry edge |
| Crystal ball | Centered contact on a flat or concave top | Diameter, weight, contact area and stability |
| Crystal block or disc | Matched support surface or frame | Bottom geometry, orientation and illuminated area |
Match light presentation to the object
Warm white can keep attention on detailed engraving, while multicolor light may suit novelty or themed presentations. The correct decision depends on the artwork, material and retail position. Review the actual engraved or printed sample rather than judging the empty base alone.
Package the base and display as a system
A crystal object normally needs stronger protection from movement and impact than a lightweight acrylic plate. Identify whether the insert and base ship together, in separate compartments or from different suppliers. Accessory and instruction placement should be included in the packing review.
