Plan shelf, bedside, wall and hospitality ambient lights around outlets, cables, switches, charging and viewing angles. Use the Decorative & Ambient Lightscollection as a starting point, then confirm the exact model and requested changes before quotation.
Decisions to make before requesting a quote
| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Surface | Confirm shelf depth, bedside clearance, wall distance and product stability. |
| Outlet | Identify voltage, plug, outlet location and acceptable cable visibility. |
| Portable use | Define charging, battery access and expected movement between rooms. |
| Control access | Keep the switch, port or remote practical from the normal user position. |
Cable direction can change the front appearance
A cable that exits toward the viewer or prevents the product sitting close to a wall can undermine an otherwise suitable design. Provide a simple placement sketch and preferred cable direction during review.
Portable does not mean maintenance-free
Rechargeable products still need charging access, storage and instructions. Battery-based formats need service and labeling consideration. The expected use cycle should justify the power choice.
Information to include in the brief
- Placement sketch and available space
- Destination voltage and plug
- Outlet position or charging routine
- Cable length and exit direction
- Switch, port and remote access
Keep the approved product, artwork, power arrangement, accessories and packaging in one version-controlled brief. If a requested change affects dimensions, tooling, electronics, materials or performance, treat it as an engineering review rather than assuming it belongs to the standard model within ambient light placement and power guide planning.
